A step forward

A lovely set of Petty knives that I feel has pushed my forging and handle skills in the right direction. Experimenting with shapes and designs, sometimes regardless of the outcome. The more I forge knives the more I find the direction I want to pursue. This is definitely gravitating towards the Japanese style of smithing and their aesthetics. I appreciate that their knives have more specific uses in the kitchen, often requiring more skill in certain aspects, currently however I think my blades are at a stage where there is still a western element. Metal choice and shape ect. This isn’t wrong, and is creating a knife thats a bit more multi purpose.
