First Weld

Maybe a little ahead of myself, but its a good way to learn.

This little knife was made for me by me, forge welding a billet of high carbon steel with some salvaged wrought iron. This came from a shipwreck and regularly washes up on a local beach.

EDIT: This really opened up this aspect of forging for me, I don’t do masses of forge/pattern welding as its very time consuming to do by hand but I enjoy it nonetheless. As well as appreciating it for its practicality over the aesthetics
