Gyuto, Magnolia & Blackwood
A Handforged, medium weight Gyuto. This design of knife is the Japanese take on a western kitchen knife. All rounders that are easy to use, fast and versatile.
This blade is forged from 1095 high carbon monosteel. This choice of steel gives this knife a better toughness to its Japanese counterparts. Whilst not having as superior edge retention, it follows the same aesthetical beauty with functionality.
Forging lines extend to the tip, giving a beautiful contrast to the bevels.
Its gentle arc rises towards the nose of the knife, allowing for smooth chopping motions, with excellent knuckle clearance this knife is versatile and a workhorse of the kitchen that is best suited to vegetable & fruit prep, boneless meats and fish.
The handle is Locally sourced Magnolia, with a Blackwood spacer. Octagonal and comfortable in the hand, it gives excellent control and security whilst being suited to most grip styles. This has been hand sanded and polished to bring out the intricate patterns in the wood.
This knife is primarily designed for vegetable, fruit and boneless protein preparation, I do not recommend using it for deboning meat and poultry.
It is a carbon steel blade, so over time will develop its own unique patina and colouring, this is normal, and reflects your cooking habits. It will require some basic care.
By purchasing this knife you are confirming you are over 18 years old and I accept no responsibility for anyone imitating or purchasing a blade for anyone under the age of 18.
