Western Petty, Carving
A lightweight, handforged western petty knife. Forged from 1095 high carbon monosteel, to 62hrc.
Long and nimble, this blade is very versatile and easy to use, long enough to give clean carving strokes on meat and fish, with a fairly thin blade to allow for basic filleting, as well as a nimble point for fine detail work. It will handle vegetables and proteins well, but is not so suited to chopping motions due to the low heel.
An octagonal handle, made from solid Zebrano and Panga wood, gives great security in the palm and dexterity, allowing for a range of grips. This has been hand finished and coating with a beeswax balsam to bring out the grain and protect the wood.
Has some slight finished blemishes in the forging line.
It is a carbon steel blade, so over time will develop its own unique patina and colouring, this is normal, and reflects your cooking habits. It will require some basic care.
By purchasing this knife you are confirming you are over 18 years old and I accept no responsibility for anyone imitating or purchasing a blade for anyone under the age of 18.
